Mr. Debdutta Mukherjee, fondly known as John, is the visionary CEO and Founder of the Poorav Group, a dynamic conglomerate with roots in Kolkata, India. An alumnus of the prestigious St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, Mr. Mukherjee’s journey has been anything but conventional.
Guided by a passion for motorsports and an entrepreneurial spirit, he charted a unique career path that took him from the fast lanes of Formula-1 (F1) racing to leading one of India’s most innovative business groups. His exceptional achievements in the F1 racing circuit earned him global recognition and a reputation as a trailblazer in the world of motorsports.
However, his entrepreneurial vision extended far beyond the racetrack. With an unyielding commitment to India’s economic growth, Mr. Mukherjee embarked on a transformative journey to redefine business excellence. Under his leadership, the Poorav Group diversified its operations, focusing on industries such as tea production (operating an 8500-hectare tea estate) and infrastructure development, contributing significantly to India's economic landscape.
